Henry VIII inherited fifty royal residences in London and made his court at Hampton Court (his greatest surviving palace), the Tower (his royal prison and execution site), Westminster Abbey (his coronation and his daughters' too), and St James's Palace (still officially in use). A two-day route through Tudor London covers all four with set-piece guided tours.
