Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 20 March 2023 to amend the date of construction and names of engineers, contractor and to reformat the text to current standards SD 62 SW 6/197 WHEELTON Whins Bridge (Number 83) at SD 601 218 II Accommodation bridge over Leeds-Liverpool canal. 1812-14. Supervising engineers Joseph and James Fletcher, contractor John Withnall. Squared sandstone. Elliptical arch with rusticated voussoirs (painted white), simple keystones, band, parapet with rounded coping, pilastered ends curved outwards; almost flat deck.
