Details SE 26 NE 5/78 MARKINGTON WITH WALLERTHWAITE STUDLEY PARK Galand Bridge GV II Raised walkway with arches for riding and for a waterfall. Probably c1750. Coursed gritstone rubble. Tall round arch to left, with pathway under, buttress to centre, lower arch right, over waterfall. This structure lies in Markington Parish but was probably built to carry a pathway from Studley Royal to a viewpoint overlooking Fountains Abbey before William Aislabie bought it in 1768.
