Details HIMBLETON CP DUNHAMPSTEAD SO 96 SW 3/150 (14/12) Dunhampstead Manor (formerly listed as 29.12.52 Dunhampstead Manor Farmhouse) GV II Farmhouse, now house. Early C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed with painted brick infill, refacing and replacement walling, lias limestone rubble base and plain tiled roofs. H-plan; hall of two framed bays aligned north-west/south-east with through passage and fire- place backing onto passage with brick ridge stack; both wings are of two framed bays. Two storeys. Framing: only exposed in wings; main south-west gable end of north-west wing has two rows of rectangular panels and south- east wing has two rows of square panels at first-floor level; north-west side elevation has close-set studding on the ground floor and three rows of small square panels above with short straight upper braces; south-east side elevation has three rows of panels from sill to wall-plate and a long straight braces, across the left lower corner; collar and tie-beam trusses at gable ends have three struts to collar and V-strut in apex. Main south- west elevation: C20 casements throughout; hall has large opening with cambered head and glazed C20 doors; above is a gabled dormer with moulded finial and a 2-light window; at right side is a gabled balustraded C19 porch on brick base with moulded finial and a C20 glazed door; both gable ends have a 3-light window with a plank weathering on both floors; C19 chimney to left side of left cross-wing roof. Interior not inspected. Main entrance to north-east elevation of hall within a lean-to addition on brick piers, now bricked in. A single-bay addition adjoins the rear gable end of the north- west cross-wing with external steps to its side elevation leading to an upper level doorway, now blocked. T
