Details SK 13 SW MARCHINGTON C.P. HOUNDHILL 7/159 Houndhill Manor (Formerly 10/1/53 listed as Houndhill) - II Farmhouse. Mid to late C17 with late C17 addition and late C19 addition and alterations. Red brick with ashlar dressings; plain tile roof with coped verges on shaped kneelers; brick stack and integral end stack. Early house to right of 3 storeys and attic with floor band and ogee moulded eaves cornice both continued on late C17 addition to left which is of 2 storeys and attic under same roof line, late C19 central projecting 3-storey porch with floor bands, moulded eaves cornice and hipped, lead covered roof surmounted by a cupola; 3:1:3 bays. Early house: Random band brick windows have ovolo- moulded mullions and surrounds, those to left and centre have 2 lights, those to right one light, central 2-light gabled dormer; door with cambered head to left of centre. Late C17 addition: Flemish bond with vitrified headers; 2-light chamfer mullioned windows with rebated and chamfered surrounds to first floor, large ground-floor bay window to left with heavy moulded cornice, tall probably C19 cross-window to ground floor right, central 2-light gabled dormer, left hand gable capped by ball finial. C19 porch: Central 4-centred doorway with panelled spandrels and overlight with three 4-centred lights and hood mould, 2-light chamfer mullioned window to first floor with hood mould, blind panel to second floor with hood mould.
