Details SK 12 NW MARCHINGTON C.P. - 11/146 Smallwood Manor - - II Small country house now school. 1886. By R.W. Edis. Red brick with yellow terracotta dressings; plain tile roof; brick stacks. Elizabethan style. 2 storeys and attic; 2:1:2 bays, all except the right hand bay have shaped gables, those to centre and right of centre are capped by finialed semi-circular pediments; central porch rising above the other gabled bays and flanked by octagonal turrets with shaped caps, central round-headed entrance flanked by smaller round-headed arches with fanlights containing radiating glazing bars; ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed windows, 4-light mullioned attic windows; lateral chimney to centre of right hand bay.
