Category B Date Added 03/08/1971 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Parish Kirkpatrick-Juxta NGR NT 07797 02770 Coordinates 307797, 602770 — Thomas Telford 1819; John MacDonald contractor (inscription). Roadbridge, widened to E mid 20th century, retaining profile. Single segmental arch high above Evan Water. ORIGINAL BRIDGE: coursed, squared rubble with ashlar dressings and rusticated voussoirs continued as channelled soffit. Slightly battered abutments. Band course below (?rebuilt) W parapet. ADDITION built of concrete, with red ashlar cladding. — Stone inscribed "This Bridge Was Bult (sic.) By/JOHN MACDONALD/ From a Plan By/THOMAS TELFORD/ In The year/1819". Span about 17m.
