Category B Date Added 30/09/1987 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Parish Dalton NGR NY 11720 76090 Coordinates 311720, 576090 — Roadbridge; piers and abutments by D and T Stevenson, 1850, iron plate girder superstructure by J and A Leslie, 1882, J Cameron Arrol contractor (inscribed plaques). 3 flat spans carrying Lochmaben-Dalton road over River Annan. Piers and abutments all bull-faced red ashlar, and each battered to level of band course; pointed cutwaters to NW; parapets over abutments also red ashlar. Rivetted plate girders. — Also in Dryfesdale Parish. David and Thomas Stevenson were appointed engineers to the Northern Lighthouse Board in 1855.
