Details First World War memorial cross of 1920s date, with later additions for the Second World War, set within the parish churchyard. MATERIALS: constructed of stone. DESCRIPTION: the memorial cross is hexagonal on plan with a tapering shaft surmounting two moulded plinths and a two-stepped base. The shaft is surmounted by a moulded lantern and simple cross above. The upper plinth has panels inscribed with the names of the fallen in the First World War. The front face is inscribed: GLORIOUS MEMORY/ OF THE MEN/ OF WEDMORE/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR GOD AND COUNTRY/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1919. The lower plinth is inscribed with the names of the fallen in the Second World War and to the front face: AND TO THOSE WHO MADE THE/ SAME SACRIFICE IN THE SECOND/ GREAT WAR, 1939-1945.
