Details STANTON HIGH STREET SP 0634-0734 (north side) 11/68 War memorial in garden wall to Stanton Court GV II War memorial. C19, circa 1920, probably by Sir J.N. Comper for Sir P.S. Stott. Ashlar stone, bronze plaque. Gabled blind arch in line of garden wall. Blind archway, 4-centred head, chamfered arris: blank shield in coped gable over, horizontal foot each side: bulb-shaped finials to apex and base each side, latter on pedestals with diamonds in relief on sides. Within arch, centre framed by Jacobean-style Ionic pilasters, on plinth with moulded top. Cornice, swept pediment with moulded edge. Rectangular bronze plaque, eared top and bottom: raised lettering. Archway originally framed village pump. (T.
