Category B Date Added 23/05/1990 Local Authority Aberdeenshire Planning Authority Aberdeenshire Burgh Macduff NGR NJ 69764 63779 Coordinates 369764, 863779 — William Adam, 1737 and later. Belvedere in form of domed arcaded rotunda. Modern harl, ashlar margins and dressings. 6 round-headed keystoned arches rising from continuous plinth to form arcade; bandcourse at impost level; bandcourse and cornice at wallhead; domed harled rubble roof capped by renewed square facetted sandstone finial crowned by small ball finial. — Commanding position on Hill of Doune overlooking Banff and Banff House. Commenced 1737 but still incomplete in 1743. Restored 1985-6.
