Ashlar frontage, dressed and coursed rubble flanks and rear, polished ashlar dressings. Rectangular church with ornate pedimented 7 bay north frontage to Queen Street with tall open campanile at NE angle. 3 centre bays flanked by giant fluted pilasters supporting entablature and pediment. Wide centre entrance flanked by Ionic columns supporting segmental pediment; 3 pilastered and key stoned round arched windows above; architraved windows in outer balustraded bays, linked by moulded cill course, moulded string course and cornice. Campanile; tall advanced lower stage with chanelled angle pilaster strips; modillioned cornice; arcaded 2nd stage with Corinthian angled pilasters supporting upper arcaded domed drum with paired engaged Corinthian columns. Ball and apex finials. Flanks and rear; 6 bay flanks with 5 paired round headed ground and gallery windows with moulded cills. Large bull's eye window to south gable flanked by single round headed lancets. Interior; rich galleried interior with original fittings. Stained glass; memorial window to John Fraser by Douglas Hamilton, circa 1965. 2 windows by Mary I Wood, 1968. — Ecclesiastical building in use as such. Formerly Tain Free Church.
