Details SO 91 SW SYDE SYDE VILLAGE 2/127 Syde Manor GV II* Large country house. Late C15 or early C16 wing; remainder principally C17 with late C17 west porch; C18 south wing. Random rubble limestone with ashlar dressings; coursed and squared rubble to C18 wing; stone slate roof. Long west-facing C17 range of 2 storeys with attic; central 2-storey porch; central staircase plan to south wing of 2 storeys with attic; 2-storey north east wing. West front: central porch has ovolo moulded doorway with plank door and 2-light ovolo moulded mullioned window over; small upper floor ovolo moulded single-light windows to porch sides; additional chamfered single-light below to right. Scattered fenestration left of porch: large small-paned casement with timber lintel to each floor; C19 roof dormer with barge boards; further left offset buttress and gabled end of cross-wing which has single- window fenestration; larger timber casement to upper floor with 2- light ovolo moulded mullioned window and flat drip stone over to attic; lean-to outbuildings attached below. Full gable to right of porch with single window fenestration: large C19 3-light mullioned window with hoodmould has small single-light C19 to left also with hood; 3-light recessed chamfered with hood above and 2- light attic window; blocked single-light high in parapet gable; blocked doorway to right with blocked oval window over set horizontally; 2-light to upper floor over; central ridge-mounted chimney is ashlar, partly rebuilt in yellow brick. West gable end of south range has ashlar chimney with moulded cap at parapet gable; C18 upper floor sash with moulded architrave and keystone; C19 canted bay below with moulded cornice to parapet and architraves with keystones to each window; 2 C19 sashes in front face and single
