Details SJ 55 SW CHOLMONDELEY C.P. CHOLMONDELEY PARK 1/20 Stone bridge east of Somerset Lodge GV II Stone bridge spanning a leg of Chapel Mere on the east approach to Cholmondeley Castle. Early C19. Of hammer-dressed sandstone, splayed-back approach parapets with square, single-stone, weathered, end piers. Eccentrically weathered, hammer dressed copings overhang both sides of parapet wall. The parapets rise to summits and have three weathered buttresses. The bridge spans wet-land rather than water and has two widely separated semicircular arches with hood moulds.
