Plain Arts and Crafts-gothic, rectangular-plan church, aligned EW; buttressed; steeply gabled swept roof with overhanging eaves; bull-faced red sandstone with ashlar dressings; lancet windows with chamfered margins, plain barge boarding to gables. W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: tall paired lancet windows with double chamfered reveal and stopped hood moulding; hood moulded vesica to apex. E (REAR) ELEVATION: mirror of W except stepped lancets to centre. S (SIDE) ELEVATION: 6-bay, asymmetrical; gabled porch to bay to far left with lancet door; paired lancet windows to 3 bays to centre; single cusped lancets to bays to right. N (SIDE) ELEVATION: mirror to S. Leaded glass, stained glass to gables. Grey graded slates; ridge tiles, decorative ridge tiles to chancel; cross finials to gables; cast-iron rainwater goods. INTERIOR: brick lined walls with ashlar dressings; pointed chancel arch; open timber beam roof supported on stone corbels; deep window embrasures; organ recess off raised chancel and door to vestry with corbelled lintel. BOUNDARY: low, squared rubble wall to street with saddleback coping rising to gatepiers; later gates and railings. — Ecclesiastical building still in use as such. Miles S Gibson, worked from 131 West Regent Street, Glasgow. Also responsible for Motherwell Episcopal Church in a similar style. A simple design but notable for it's good proportions.
