Details SOULDERN HIGH STREET SP5131 (South side) 13/99 Souldern Manor 26/11/51 GV II Manor house, now house. Late C17 with C18, C19 and C20 alterations. Squared, coursed limestone. Steeply pitched slate roofs with stone coped gables with pineapple finials. Stone ridge and end stacks. Irregular plan. 2 storeys plus attics and cellar. 5-window range. 1:3:1 bays. West front has recessed central block flanked by projecting wings. Central doorway with shouldered architrave, pediment and 6-panelled door. Entrance is flanked by sashes in flush wood frames with glazing bars and hood moulds with label stops. 2-light stone mullioned cellar windows. Wings and first floor all have sashes within stone frames, some with hood moulds and label stops. Moulded stone eaves cornice. Recessed central part has a shallow parapet with urns. Another entrance in C19/C20 addition on left gable. C20 addition on right. Rear range of 6-windows. Interior said to have been altered in 1850, 1877 and in 1955-6 for Lord Bicester. Interior not inspected.
