Details SJ 97 NE 3/161 KETTLESHULE MACCLESFIELD ROAD Road Bridge 20 metres SSW of Reed Bridge II Bridge over Todd Brook. c1770. Similar, although smaller, than the principal turnpike road bridge carrying the Macclesfield Road (A5002; listed 3/80). Coursed, Squared sandstone rubble. Segmental arch on low piers, with plain rubble weathering. Simple parapet and flat coping continue as very short wing walls. Probably built by the Macclesfield Bridge Turnpike Trust in c1770 as an accommodation bridge to allow local farm traffic to use an alternative to the turnpike bridge.
