Category B Date Added 30/03/1992 Local Authority East Lothian Planning Authority East Lothian Parish Ormiston NGR NT 41278 68934 Coordinates 341278, 668934 — Mid 18th century. Single arch bridge with flanking overflow arch each side. Cream sandstone rubble with harl pointing; squared for voussoirs of arches; ashlar coping to parapet. Main arch span of approximatley 10'. — Bridging the River Tyne to S of Ormiston Probably part of the planned village works masterminded by John Cockburn in the mid 18th century, and quite possibly designed by their creator, Lewis Gordon, a civil engineer brought up from London for the purpose.
