Ockenden Manor

Ockenden Manor has been operated by the Historic Sussex Hotels group since 1987. The building itself is a Grade II* listed Elizabethan country manor, dating from the late 16th century with additional builds in the early 17th century and in 1858. It won a Michelin star in 2001 under Martin Hadden, who left shortly afterwards to set up his own restaurant called The Priory House. After losing its star the next year, the restaurant regained it in 2004 and kept it until 2016 under chef Stephen Crane.
