Details LYDNEY CHURCH ROAD SO 60 SW (east side) 7/93 Monument to DOROTHY BERRO--- in the churchyard c8m north of north corner of aisle chapel of the church of St Mary - II* Chest tomb. Early C17. Sandstone. Thick incised top with moulded edge, plain inscription panels, moulded base, part sunk at time of survey (September 1983). At east end, in crude inscription, DOROTHY BERRO--- his daughter d 1632, and on the ledger slab the name LONGDON with date 17--. This is an important monument by virtue of its early date, and the naive lettering in some of the remaining inscriptions: the tomb may date from the very beginning of the C17.
