Category C Date Added 12/10/1989 Local Authority Glasgow Planning Authority Glasgow Burgh Glasgow NGR NS 58957 56914 Coordinates 258957, 656914 — 1884 datestone on bridge refers to alterations and re-aligning to lessen skew of roadway, but main fabric 2 main builds, and 18th century in appearance. Single semi-circular span carrying B759 over Kittoch Water. All rubble-built with ashlar dressings. Roadway doubled in width (to approximately 20') to E probably in 2nd half of 18th century, with droved ashlar soffit; original arch (nearest W) built probably in 1st half of 18th century. Subsidiary arch on either flank keyed in above voussoirs and 2 diagonally opposing abutments re-clad, 1884, to support re-aligned roadway; parapets (also 1884) are vermiculated ashlar with raised terminal piers. — The Kittoch Bridge spans both the Glasgow City and East Renfrewshire (Mearns Parish) boundaries.
