Details HORNBY-WITH-FARLETON MAIN STREET (west side) SD 56 NE 7/115 War Memorial GV II War Memorial, 1920 with medieval remains. Sandstone. A chamfered octagonal cross base, removed from its former position in front of the demolished Town Hall, stands on 2 steps of square plan. Above is a tapering octagonal shaft, of 1920, with a head of square plan under a gable, carved with figures. It is surmounted by a cross. On the east side of the octagonal base is a plaque inscribed: 'Re-erected in 1920 to the Heroes of the Parish of Hornby.' On the west side a plaque records the dead of the 1939-45 war. Listing NGR: SD5847168589 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 2 February 2017.
