Details First World War memorial, 1919. MATERIALS: grey granite. DESCRIPTION: Holme Eden War Memorial is located in the churchyard of St Paul’s Church, Holme Eden, Warwick Bridge, Cumbria. It is prominently situated in the north-west corner of the churchyard, near to the churchyard entrance and overlooking the River Eden. It comprises a c.2.5m Celtic style grey granite cross with interlace ornament to the head, on a bowed inscribed shaft and a rough-hewn base with a relief-carved wreath at the foot. The shaft bears the inscriptions in relief-carved lettering. The inscription reads: 1914/ (NAMES)/ 1919/ ERECTED BY PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS// 1939 1945/ (NAMES).
