Category B Date Added 04/11/1971 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Parish Kells NGR NX 66366 70081 Coordinates 266366, 570081 — Earlier 19th century. Granite-built bridge over Black Water of Dee near Hensol house. Single segmental arch, 55 ft span app. Springers of bull-nosed and broached granite; voussoirs and soffit of finely dressed granite; spandrels abutments and parapets of random rubble. Parapet coping of dressed granite. Carriageway slightly hump backed, shallow splay embrasure. — Hensol House was designed by Robert Lugar in 1825; the bridge was probably built at this time, perhaps to Lugar's design.
