Details KINGSTON LISLE FAWLER SU38NW 6/108 Fawler Manor. - II House. Late C16, with TC 1590 on stack at attic level; right wing c.1910. Roughcast over original timber frame; roughcast over brick to right wing; stone slate roof to front, tiled at rear; brick stacks. Original hall and cross- wing plan. 2-storey, 4-window range with 2 central bays forming recessed hall -range. C20 door. Original 3- and 4- light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned leaded casements with iron fittings to front and rear; C20 casements to right wing. Gabled roof. C16 ridge stacks with double flues set diagonally, C20 stack to front right. Interior: 4-panelled doors of c.1910; some C18 four-panelled doors with HL hinges to first floor; left ground floor room has original chalk fireplaces with moulded architrave; first floor has moulded beam with elaborate stop to left wing, with original chalk fireplace with moulded surround; part of original newel adjoining stack in left wing gives access from first floor to attic; 5-bay collar-truss roof, butt purlins; original floorboards. C20 porch to rear left. Fawler Manor is shown on the O.S. map as Wirdnams Farm, its previous name.
