II Public road bridge over Bridgewater Canal. Canal opened 1776, John Gilbert engineer. Brick with sandstone dressings. Segmental brick arch and stone band. Stone copings which rise to a small apex at the centre on brick parapet walls. Brick buttresses restrain the walls at either side of the arch.
