Category C Group Category Details 100000020 - See Notes Date Added 19/12/1979 Supplementary Information Updated 04/06/2007 Local Authority Fife Planning Authority Fife Parish Aberdour (Fife) NGR NT 18457 88679 Coordinates 318457, 688679 — Later 19th century. Square-plan, tapering tower. Random rubble. Roughly arched opening to each face leading to hollow core. — B-group with Cullaloe Farmhouse, Cullaloe Temple and Cullaloe Dry Bridge. The tower is sited on a rocky outcrop and would have been a visible landmark in the surrounding area, it also would have afforded good views SE towards the Forth. The tree planting around has grown up and shrouds the structure at present, (2002). The tower forms a later development in the woodland designed landscape to the SW of Cullaloe Farmhouse (see separate listing) being a later 19th century addition to the avenue. The Temple (see separate listing) further along the avenue to the NW predates the Tower and was built at the time of improvements to Cullaloe Farmhouse in the earlier 19th century. The rubble boulderstones most likely came from the local quarry at Cullaloe. Owned by Forestry Commission Scotland.
