About this reserve

Explore this woodland of towering oaks hidden within a steep sided valley where grasslands rustle and bristle with life. ? ? Coombes Valley is a wonderful woodland reserve. It's perfect for nature enthusiasts to explore and for families to have fun and play together outdoors. In spring and early summer, migrating Flycatchers, and Redstarts come to breed. In winter, Redwings, Fieldfares and winter finches are regular visitors. For groups of ten or more people please contact us by email at least a week ahead of your visit to check if we can accommodate you, as we have a very small car park. All spaces on firm, rolled gravel. Accessible parking spaces available next to the Information Centre. No lighting in car park. No height restriction barrier. No overnight parking or camping. Please be respectful of other visitor access, our team and our neighbours by not parking on the road, verges or in gateways, as it causes an obstruction for residents and emergency services. Largely unsurfaced paths, with changes in gradient and some very steep sections. Steps (some without handrails) and narrow footbridges on public footpaths.
