Details SWINTON & PENDLEBURY MANCHESTER ROAD SD 70 SE (north side) 2/14 Clifton War - Memorial - II War memorial. c.l919. Designed by Gordon Forsyth of Royal Lancastrian Pottery. Ashlar. Sculpted lion sits on tall tapering square shaft with base and capital. The shaft bears a cross with rolls of honour and an inscription: "To the memory of the men of Clifton who died for freedom". Listing NGR: SD7779803296 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 30 January 2017.
