Details SWINTON & PENDLEBURY MANCHESTER ROAD SD 70 SE (north side) 2/14 Clifton War - Memorial - II War memorial. c.l919. Designed by Gordon Forsyth of Royal Lancastrian Pottery. Ashlar. Sculpted lion sits on tall tapering square shaft with base and capital. The shaft bears a cross with rolls of honour and an inscription: "To the memory of the men of Clifton who died for freedom". Listing NGR: SD7779803296 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
