Details SE3036 714-1/19/582 LEEDS HARROGATE ROAD, Chapel Allerton (East side) War Memorial and railings at entrance to the Old Graveyard GV II War memorial with flanking railings and gate. c1920. Ashlar. High chamfered plinth, tall tapered cross with small crucifix on the W side; railings cast-iron with scroll finials. Plaque on W side of plinth: 'TO THE/ UNCONQUERED/ 1914-1918/ 1939-1945'; brass plaque on E side: 'THEY BATTLED, THEY ENDURED, THEY DIED', list of 85 names. Listing NGR: SE3055936974 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 31 January 2017.
