Details BUTLEIGH CP ST53SW BUTLEIGH CROSS 9/3 War Memorial at NGR ST 5250 3241 - - II War memorial. Circa 1920. Dressed Ham stone. In a C14 style, incorporating the socket of a C14 wayside cross that stood on this site. Base of 4 octagonal steps, the lower benched and with a splay set-off. Much weathered square socket; tapering octagonal shaft with carved figure, crucifix at apex. Steps inscribed with names of the fallen. Occupies a prominent position in the landscape. Listing NGR: ST5205532419 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 14 December 2016.
