Details KINGSTON UPON HULL TA1029SW NEW CLEVELAND STREET 680-1/19/260 Bridge over the former Foredyke 06/03/78 Stream GV II Road bridge over the former Foredyke Stream. 1902. Built by Rose, Downs & Thomson Ltd of Hull. Reinforced concrete on Hennebique system, with terracotta parapets and brick flanking walls. Traceried pierced parapets and flanking walls have moulded coping. Corniced rectangular piers have relief panels and stepped granite caps. South-west pier has a plaque with the inscription reading "This bridge is the first bridge built in ferro-concrete in Great Britain. "Hennebique System". Constructed by Rose, Downs & Thompson Ltd, Hull, in 1902." The stream has been filled so that only the parapets of the bridge are visible.
