Category B Date Added 08/03/1994 Local Authority Edinburgh Planning Authority Edinburgh Burgh Edinburgh NGR NT 13928 70895 Coordinates 313928, 670895 — Hugh Baird, engineer, circa 1820. Coursed, squared and stugged sandstone with ashlar string course and coping. Single-span segmental arch; slightly battered abutments. Ashlar voussoirs; projecting keystone with '15' inscribed; obscured by modern piping (follows line of bridge on W and E sides). Coped parapet. — The Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal was built 1818-22 and was designed by Hugh Baird, engineer. Scheduled Monument.
