Details HEREFORD SO53NW BARTON ROAD 683-1/4/27 (North side) 22/10/73 No.50 Barton Manor GV II House. Early C18, with C17 wing. Brick (painted to ground floor); C20 plain tile roof; composite brick stack with C20 cap, to left rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and cellar; 5-window range: C19 mullion and transom casements with leaded lights and some glazing bars, under simple weatherhoods, and segmental arches. Central C20 porch and C18, 6 fielded-panel door and overlight with glazing bars; flanked by C19, 6/6 sashes with moulded heads, under segmental arches; storeyband overall. Left returned side has returned storeyband, with C20, 6/6 sash and C19 casement over. Wing to rear: of C18 brickwork, with C17 timber-framing in rear gable; Welsh slate roof; C19 light with glazing bars, and C20 light in altered opening under gauged brick flat arch; string course over. INTERIOR: 2nd floor: 3 plank doors, 1 with balustered overlight. 1st floor: 2 C18, 4-panel doors with architraves; simple fire surround. Ground floor: skirting; 4-panel door; fireplace and panelling; chamfered ceiling beam; 2 corner fireplaces, 1 with range; plank door. Cellar: stone-lined.
