Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 23/02/2018 TQ 4277 30/494 DURRINGTON Larkhill Garrison Afghan and Zulu War Memorial (Formerly listed as Afghan and Zulu War Memorial (about 180 yards south-south-west of Green Hill married quarters, REPOSITORY ROAD SE18) II After 1881. Several large pieces of rough-hewn rock, assembled to look like a megalith. Base stone projects to form platform on east side. Central copper plate above, with names of those remembered. At either side, three-dimensional trophies of Zulu and Afghan arms in cast copper. The memorial was moved to its current location some time after 2008. Listing NGR: SU1370644201 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 10 February 2017.
