Details SU 62 NW BRAMDEAN A272 (North side) 6/10 Woodcote Manor 5.12.55 (formerly listed as Woodcote GV II* Manor House) Small country house. Late C15, C17 and 1911 by R Blomfield for Seymour Haden. Brick on rubble flint plinth (with timberframe core) old plain tile roof. Mid C17 house with W or garden front of 4 gabled bays and centre porch, with wing behind at left earlier timber-framed house and wing behind at right in Blomfield's Georgian style 3 bay S front. W front 2 storeys, and attic on basement in plinth, 4 gable, 9 window range with blank gable stack bay addition to right. Projecting 2 storey gabled porch approximately central approached by flight of stone steps with wrought iron handrails to C20 Tudor style oak door in moulded brick 4-centred arch, C18 12-pane flush framed sash with blind box and moulded bargeboards above. Either side 4 C18 5-pane sashes similar to that in porch. 1st floor moulded brick string course. On 1st floor 7 sashes similar to that in porch but between left 2 gables narrow 8-pane sash. Dentilled cornice running along base of gables. In gables C17 3-light leaded casements, with moulded brick surrounds and moulded timber bargeboards. Lead downpipes between gables on face of building. Roofs steep pitched with triple diamond stack gable end at right, double diamond stack between right gables and triple diamond stacks behind ridge behind 2 left gables, the stack at left has C17 brickwork. Interior has staircase to rear at right. C17 with heavy turned balusters and doorways on to it have moulded oak frames with studded doors on wrought iron hinges. At the top in attics is screen of balusters. The ground floor rooms behind the porch and right of it have early C18 panelling, and the left end roof has contemporary chimney pieces. 1st floor room
