Details MATERIALS: sandstone. DESCRIPTION: the memorial is located by the roadside and it comprises a Latin cross surmounting a tapered shaft set on a square two-tiered plinth. The whole is set upon a square single-stepped base. The inscription on the plinth in incised letters reads TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1918/ AND IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR/ 1939 – 1945 (NAMES). This List entry has been amended to add the source for War Memorials Online. This source was not used in the compilation of this List entry but is added here as a guide for further reading, 22 February 2017.
