Category B Date Added 27/11/1990 Local Authority East Lothian Planning Authority East Lothian Parish Whittingehame NGR NT 60524 73880 Coordinates 360524, 673880 — Probably early 19th century. Coursed red sandstone bridge, stugged and droved stone. Spanning banks of differing heights and with parapet. Voussoired semi-circular arch to N spanning Whittingehame Water, and flanked to S by diminutive dry, overflow arch. Raised panels flanking each arch, with semi-circular niches and impost bands. Parapet of coursed stone broken at regular intervals by short dies. — Sited near Lady Eleanor's Cottage, and here referred to simply as Whittingehame Bridge because of its proximity to the former village, and to distinguish it from the East Bridge, and Lime Tree Avenue Bridge. The main arch spans approximately 39'.
