Details MAWDESLEY MEADOW LANE SD 41 NE 8/159 White Bridge - II Public road bridge over new cut of River Douglas. Probably early- to mid-C18. Squared sandstone. Three span. Segmental arches with rusticated voussoirs, keystones, arch-bands; rounded cutwaters of rock-faced stone with concave chamfered tops dying into pilasters; plain cornice, parapet and rounded coping (which may be replacements). History: Douglas Navigation built 1720-42. Closely resembles Great Hanging Bridge, Croston CP (q.v.). Item crosses boundary with Rufford CP, West Lancs District.
