Details BARTON ON THE HEATH SP23SE 5/21 Wheelbarrow Castle - II House. Late C17/early C18. Squared coursed limestone with quoins and coped gables. Stone-slate roof with moulded stone end stacks. Central-staircase plan. 2-storey, 3-window range of 3-light mullioned windows to ground floor and 2-light mullioned windows to first floor. C18 plank door, hinged vertically to centre. Moulded wood surround with plain overlight and stone flat arch. C19 timber porch. One C20 skylight. Two C19 casements with wood lintels and one chamfered light to rear. Interior: chamfered spine beams and large open fireplace, faced C19. Central winder staircase. Stone steps lead down to beer cellar. Formerly a coaching inn.
