Squared and tooled yellow sandstone. Regular fenestration. Base course, architraved openings. E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 5-bay, full-height Tuscan pilasters flanking outer bays. Small gabled entrance porch to centre. Moulded pedimented gable with inscribed panel to centre: ERECTED BY FRIENDS OF THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND 1834. 3-stage bell tower at apex: square-plan 1st stage; battered to octagonal 2nd stage, louvered openings; canted 3rd stage terminating in cupola with cast-iron, weathervane to apex. W (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 2001. N (SIDE) ELEVATION: 5-bay, regular fenestration. S (SIDE) ELEVATION: mirror of N. Plate glass replacement windows. Grey slates, lead flashing. INTERIOR: plain galleried interior, woodwork replaced with gothic scheme by A MacGregor Mitchell, 1890. — Period similarities with St Margaret's RC church (see separate listing). Currently owned by the Council.
