Details The war memorial stands on a small green at a road junction in the village centre. Overall c5m high, it comprises a simple limestone obelisk set on a tapering, square, plinth, which stands on a three-stage octagonal base. A narrow gravel path runs around this, defined by a limestone edging. Attached to the plinth, a bronze plaque with raised lettering reads TO THE/ MEMORY OF THE/ MEN OF WELDON/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR THEIR COUNTRY/ IN THE WAR OF/ 1914-1919. The names of those who fell, by year, are recorded on similar plaques to the remaining sides. Plaques in the same style at the base of the obelisk record those who fell 1939-1945. The memorial stands in a small garden defined by a modern post and chain fence. That is not included in the listing.
