Celtic ring cross on ornamental shaft, engraved plinth and 2-stepped base. Portland stone with a dressed ashlar base. Dates and names carved then coloured black. SW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: large knotwork central boss, carved interlocking Celtic knotwork to upper and lower limbs and lateral arms; slightly projecting shaft divided into 3 architraved portions containing 1914 to top, relief of a laurel wreath to centre, 1919 to bottom; larger sloped plinth below with relief panel inscribed: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF CRANSTOUN PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR (with single cross flanking and names listed below), THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE inscribed on base of plinth; 2 stepped base. SE ELEVATION: carved memorial to World War II on sloped plinth: dates (1939 and 1945) with a cross between, names below. NE (REAR) ELEVATION: undecorated rear of stone Celtic ring cross, shaft, plinth and base. NW ELEVATION: carved memorial to World War II on sloped plinth: dates (1939 and 1945) with a cross between, names below.
