Details KIDSGROVE CP TRENT AND MERSEY CANAL SJ 85 SW Harding's Wood 5/74 Bridge over Macclesfield Canal - II Towing path bridge. 1829. Red brick (English bond) with ashlar dressings. Single semi-elliptical arch with rusticated voussoirs. Stone parapet band to a plain parapet which on the south side is terminated by square piers, and which on the north side curves into the ground. On each side of the bridge is a stone panel inscribed thus: "MACCLESFIELD / CANAL / MDCCCXXXIIII". The Macclesfield Canal was opened in 1831, the engineer was William Crosley.
