Details KING'S BROMLEY C.P. TRENT & MERSEY CANAL SK 11 SW 11/68 Bridge No. 53 and - Woodend lock GV II Canal bridge and lock. Late C18. Red brick (English bond) with sandstone arch jambs and parapet coping. Stilted 3-centred arch; above it is a sandstone block inscribed "57". Plain parapet and abutments which sweep forward. Lock to the rear with C20 gates. The Act for the Trent and Mersey Canal was passed in 1765. B.o.E. p. 36.
