Details CHIRTON THE STREET SU 05 NE (north end) /69 Three monuments in churchyard, approximately 12m north-east of chancel, Church of St John the Baptist II Group of two chest tombs and stone ledger slab. C18 and early C19. Chest tombs of limestone, tall, with hipped tops on moulded tables, and recessed corner balusters. Oval inscribed panels between carved drapes and foliage. From north, a) to Elizabeth Barnes, died 1826, and others. b) Adjoining last, a low stone slab, to Harry Amor and Elizabeth Hitchcock, both died 1776. c) as a), to Robert Pierce of Little Cheverell, died 1833.
