Coursed, squared ironstone rubble; domed cap with C20 aluminium cladding and original copper ball finial. Circular plan; 6 storeys with extra storey in cap; approx 60ft tall. Centre-pivoting 20-pane casements facing cardinal directions, fewer to north. Stable door at base, first floor door and blocked forth floor door. No sails. Interior: virtually complete set of machinery including dressing plant; 4 sets of grindstones (three French, one Peak), one of the French sets is underdriven; very rare Wegmann Porcelain Roller Mill of c1880. Ceased operating c1922, the sails and fantail removed 1930's. Said to be the tallest stone windmill in the country. Moon.N.
