Details NY 53 NE HUNSONBY LITTLE SALKELD 6/77 The Watermill, attached house, barn 11.9.74 and stables (formerly listed as The Corn Mill) II* Water corn mill, miller's house, barn and stables. Mid or late C18 with later alterations and 1975 restoration. Cement rendered sandstone rubble walls. House has sandstone slate roof; the mill graduated greenslate and the stables Welsh slate, all with rendered chimney stacks. Central 2-storey, 2-bay miller's house with right 2-bay barn under common roof. Left 3-storey, 2-bay mill and right 3-bay former stable. House has off-centre panelled door in plain opening. Sash windows, some in original stone surrounds. Barn has segmental-headed doorway and sash window under loft doorway. Mill has plank door and casement windows in raised stone surrounds. Stables have central and right plank doors and C20 sash windows; right loft doorway. Rear of mill has 2 waterwheels which drive much of the original machinery inside.
