Details SO 37 NW 10/17 21.3.68 CLUN C.P. - The Quern (formerly listed as Quern Farmhouse) II Farmhouse and Watermill, the latter now house. C17 and mid-to-late C19 watermill. Farmhouse: Timber framed with plastered infil panels, partly rendered and brick clad; slate roof. 2 framed bays. One storey and attic. Large eaves-dormer off-centre to left with 2- light mid-to-late C19 wooden casement and jettied gable with end brackets and exposed truss with 4 vertical struts below collar and curved V-struts above; C19 external brick end stack to right and large integral stone end stack to left with weathering at ridge level. Framing: square panels (3 up to wall plate) with straight corner braces; close-studded dormer. 2-window front, mid-to-late C19 wooden 2-light casements; central boarded door with C20 glazed lean-to porch. Exposed collar and tie-beam truss in right- hand gable end with queen struts and V-struts. Former mill: coursed and roughly squared limestone; slate roof. 2 storeys and attic; 2 gabled eaves-dormers with 3-light wooden casements. 2-window front; 2-light wooden casements; half-glazed door to right.
