Details First World War memorial, 1919, moved to its current position c1965. MATERIAL: granite. DESCRIPTION: the memorial comprises a chamfered Latin cross and shaft with decorative stops at its base. The shaft rises from a square plinth with shaped corners, set on a hexagonal base. The front face of the plinth, facing the road, bears the inscription 1914 - 1919. The memorial stands on an elevated position at the roadside, reached by a set of steps. This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 25 July 2017.
